Aes Ambelis Omiros is the product of a long and painstaking effort in the vineyard and the winery to fully express the rich aromatic and flavor potential of the rare, recently rediscovered, indigenous variety Maratheftiko. Omiros is aged in French oak barrels for eight months and subsequently in the bottle for a year. A full-bodied and balanced wine, with a silky character dominated by the rich aromas and flavors of red fruit, dry figs and walnuts, that leads to long lasting aromatic aftertaste. Ready for immediate enjoyment, it can further develop for the next 2-3 years.

Grape Variety: 100% Maratheftiko. An ancient Cypriot variety.
Vineyards: Estate vineyard.
Harvest: Early October.
Vinification methods: A rare and unique indigenous variety of Cyprus, rediscovered a few years back. Vinified in a totally controlled environment so as to fully extract its unique characteristics.
Aging: In French oak barrels for eight months and subsequently in a bottle for one year. Ready for immediate consumption, it can further develop for the next 2-3 years.
Tasting notes: Unique aromas and flavors, typical of Maratheftiko. Specifically, the aromas of berries, black cherries and roses are characteristic in this wine, while it’s silky flavor, reminiscent of spices, leads to a long and round finish.
Serving temperature: Best served at 18°C.
Complimentary Flavors: Game, red meat and Mediterranean food.
